Cottingham Comedy Club presents: Tom Wrigglesworth
Thu 10th Jan @ 7:30 pm£7 – £8
All ages: (but there is the possibility of some colourful language)
Cottingham Comedy Club, the village’s only comedy venue, provides a unique comedy experience in many ways. This intimate club gets you up close and personal with the acts, many of whom are breaking through into TV, or are established acts from the UK and international comedy circuit. The Railway is a welcoming venue and we have a dedicated room for the comedy, with regular breaks between the acts for you to lubricate your throats with laughter juice. With four acts and a compere it’s great value for money at less than £2 per comedian. We think it’s the most fun you can have with friends on a midweek night out.
Back with our first session of 2019 and we’ve got a real treat for you: the genius that is Tom Wrigglesworth.
Tom is an established Stand-Up comedian, Radio and TV presenter and voice-over artist from Sheffield, England.
He is best known for his live storytelling shows and BBC Radio comedy programmes which take a comical and emotional look at family relationships.
Alongside his comedy work, he’s used his engineering background to become a natural and engaging presenter for BBC Television and The Discovery Channel.
He is also known for his uncanny resemblance to record-breaking Quarter-Back Aaron Rodgers. Tom visited Green Bay to meet his doppelganger and a short movie by NFL Films covering his trip became a viral Youtube hit.
“Comedy is rarely this elegant” – TIME OUT
“A gift for comic storytelling, a lovely turn of phrase, an ear for allowable exaggeration” – TELEGRAPH
“The gods of comedy chose Tom Wrigglesworth for greatness” – Scotsman
“Magical storytelling… a rare talent … hysterical and accomplished – TIME OUT
Plus the usual support: a professional opener and two up and coming acts in the middle section.
And hosting proceedings is everyone’s second favourite compere, local celebrity and self-proclaimed sex symbol Jed Salisbury. The man, the myth, the legend will be hosting proceedings and sharing his version of the naked truth.
