Roundtable Collective presents..
Winners of the Best Live Act in the UK Exposure Music Awards 2014 and finalists of the Best Live Act International Bastaard Fantasy Awards in Holland 2017. PerKelt draw inspiration from pagan spirituality, ancient folklore melodies and poetry, and their inner urge to play fast, dance and have as much fun on the stage as the audience in front. They use their instruments and skills to the real limits; with the sound of flutes, fiddles, tribal drums, guitars, harp and their haunting vocals. Stirring in the pagan poetry and enchanting atmosphere, they bring the genre of their own, best described as “pagan speedfolk”.
Copper Viper is an acoustic folk duo from London, comprised of prolific songwriter and guitarist Robin Joel Sangster and fiddle/mandolin player Duncan Menzies. Drawing inspiration from the British folk and American country/bluegrass traditions, Copper Viper’s music marries haunting melodies and intricate vocal harmonies with searing instrumental passages to create a stylistic blend that is at once familiar and unique. The group recently recorded their debut album “Cut It Down, Count The Rings” at Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville WA, USA with platinum-selling producer Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Brandi Carlile). Mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Gavin Lurssen (“O Brother, Where Art Thou?” Soundtrack, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss), the album flows smoothly between lyrical ballads and foot-stomping barn-stormers, mixing melancholy, hope, tension and joy in equal measure.
Yorkshire’s favourite nu-folksters need no introduction in their hometown and this musical gathering will be the perfect occasion to celebrate the release of their song ‘Easy’!
Hailing from Tasmania and based in London since 2010 he has forged a reputation for his own unique dedication to the music. His first UK gigs were played in Yorkshire during Summer 2007 and he’s been a regular visitor back since. 2019 sees the release of two uniquely different albums; ‘Soundscapes for Eddywhy’, an instrumental soundtrack record made over several years and recorded in several different locations completely solo. The second, ‘Inner City Electricity’, will be released on new Camden Town based label Spiritual Records, its a gritty edged blues-influenced record made with his band Léscines and was several years in the making.
