Tom Kay returns with his new single 'Learning To Live' - a track which is a testament to a writer who is constantly evolving. This new release cements his sound as a solo artist, combining his honest song writing with ambient and electronic soundscapes. The new track twists and turns through beauty, joy and melancholia and is packed with emotion. 'Learning To Live', produced by Pat Dooner and Carl Conway-Davis and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Coldplay, The Rolling Stones) is the first taste of what's to come after his raw and dark 2017 album 'Wither & Bloom'.
Kay has been recording and performing as a solo artist since 2010. His 2016 album 'From The Outside In' reached #32 in the UK iTunes Charts in the week of its release, this was followed by a UK tour which included opening for Grammy Award winning songwriter Gill Landry. 2017 saw his first collaboration with producers Pat Dooner and Carl Conway-Davis on his album 'Wither & Bloom' and his first steps into experimenting with ambient and electronic sounds. Kay performed shows across the UK in support of 'Wither & Bloom' and was invited by critically acclaimed American singer/songwriter John Grant to perform at his North Atlantic Flux Festival.
Tom returns to Kardomah94 on Saturday 24th February with support from special guest Dom Major for his ‘Learning To Live' single launch and we are promised that the set list will span his past releases with a few surprises. Not one to miss!
