Set sail on a once in a lifetime watery adventure where you can be part of the soundtrack, or just bask in the indie electro joys of Croatia's leading artists Mr Lee & IvaneSky at their first UK show. A modern soundtrack for a modern silent film Veit Helmer's gorgeous Tuvalu ranks alongside the Oscar-winning The Artist as one of the greatest silent films made in recent years. Why choose between a gig or a film when you can have both? No piano solo accompaniment here: silent film is going to get loud!

All attendees will be able to be part of the score using their mobile phones, with interactive elements cueing you to cheer, stamp, boo and even gargle as our hero Anton sets out to save his beloved swimming pool from closure, and win the heart of feisty Eva in this quirky silent fairytale.

This will be only the second time the live soundtrack has been performed in the world, with the world premiere taking place at the 20th Motovun Film Festival in Croatia in July 2017. Previously unreleased in the UK, Tuvalu is a must-see for fans of classic silent films, as well as fans of alternative indie live music think Arcade Fire, British Sea Power, or Sigur Ros.

Everyone can take part on the night, and you can even star in the show: ever dreamed of performing with a band but don't play an instrument? Now's your chance: we're looking for volunteers to play with Mr Lee and IvaneSky on our improvised instruments made from water bottles. For full details email info@livecinema.org.uk.

Tuvalu is part of Live Cinema EU, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. Produced by Live Cinema UK and Motovun Film Festival as part of Hull UK City of Culture 2017 Transformative Film Culture for Hull, supported by the BFI Film Audience Network.

We are looking for a small group of audience members to play instruments - no musical talent required! Interested parties should contact info@livecinema.org.uk and will need to be at the venue for 18:45 on the evening.
