What do you get if you cross Vic and Bob’s Shooting Stars, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year and Never Mind the Buzzcocks (RIP)? Middle Child’s Never Mind the Pub Quiz, that’s what!
Hull’s gig theatre raconteurs return to Fruit this Sunday night (26th February) with another edition of their ever popular pub quiz, this time with an Oscars night special, for the cinephiles in the city. Or those with nothing better to do.
Unlike your usual fare, where some middle-aged bloke sits at the end of the bar, traipsing through questions with the delivery of a mangy half-dead racing pigeon, Middle Child’s own actors perform the questions on stage, aided and abetted by the company’s director Paul Smith, the brains behind the 5x sell out Harry Potter quizzes.
Rounds include Guess The Movie Theme, Literal Movie Trailers and Fictional Film Fights.
It wouldn’t be Oscars night without ball gowns, tuxedos and acceptance speeches either, so brush off your Sunday best - we hear the paparazzi will be there - and prepare to take to the lectern should you somehow beat every other team to lift an Oscar of your own.
Doors open at 7pm and the quiz starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £3 on the door and it’s strictly 18+. Max team size: 6.
